It's been a great past couple weeks. We've made some media appearances and a few successful fundraisers. We've raised about $9300 to date and are so close to reaching our goal of $12,000.
Since our last post, we spent alot of time at the Fair making ourselves known to the world. We were visited by Tom Flanigan, a reporter from NPR. He interviewed Cory Jackson and made a story about us! Find the story on our website: http://sailroboticsclub.com/news.html
Last weekend was all about fundraisers. On Thursday we had a blast at our benefit concert on campus. Also, on Saturday, we hosted a pancake breakfast at Applebee's and a benefit dinner at the Miccosukee Land Co-Op. All in all we made about $1000 that weekend.
We've only got a few events left before build season starts. One of them is our live music concert at The Engine Room on December 7, 6pm. Featuring live music by the SAIL Bluegrass Ensemble, Libby O'Neill and Company, and The Typsy Gypsies. Checkout the fundraising page on our website for more details.
This just in. On Monday December 5, the ABC 27 will be interviewing us on their morning show. More details to follow. We're going to be on TV!
Lastly, a big congratulations to our lead mentor, Jasun on becoming SAIL's new "Teacher of the Year!" He will go on to be considered for the district wide award. WOOOT!!
